The Track Recording Car EM 140, system Plasser & Theurer, is a heavy duty, non-contacting recording and inspection vehicle, with two (2) bogies, each consisting of two axles. One bogie has both axles driven, the other is idle. The measuring systems measure, record and analyse defects of the track, at speeds of up to 140 km/h, under loaded conditions, similar to a train travelling along the track.
Therefore, the measurements fully represent the actual track geometry of a loaded track in realistic dynamic conditions.
