The Track Recording Car EM120T, system Plasser & Theurer, is a heavy track measuring and video inspection vehicle, which consists of two units. One Power Car Unit (PCU) housing the engines and the video systems and one towed Measuring Car Unit (MCU) housing the inertial navigational track geometry measuring system, all optional measuring systems and the optional NORDO ultrasonic rail flaw detection system. The two units are permanently attached together with flexible barriers between them. The EMT120T is capable of detecting and recording track faults with high precision under load conditions which are similar to those of regular trains. The EMT120T combines the measuring functions of the track, the rails, and the catenary wire with clearance gauge measurements and video inspection, and provides ultrasonic rail flaw detection.
